The Florida State University High School Seminoles waltzed into Friday's matchup with three straight wins but they left with four. They had just enough and edged Lincoln out 24-22. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Florida State University High School also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Among those leading the charge was Jeremy Johnston, who threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Florida State University High School also got a significant boost from Jayden Threatts, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 101 yards.
Lincoln's loss came despite strong showings from Christian Sims and Jashawn Washington. Sims rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown, while Washington rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.3 yards per carry.
Florida State University High School has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points per game. As for Lincoln, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Florida State University High School will stay at home for another week and welcome Marianna at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Marianna will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Florida State University High School is ranked 45th). As for Lincoln, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Matanzas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
