Isabella Guerra was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Payton Preston was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Ryleigh Mansfield-Bush also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Central Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Lakota on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 6-3 to the Raiders. The Crimson Streaks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Cadence Waleryszak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Emma Kelbley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. Paul has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like St. Joseph Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Paul couldn't quite get it done against St. Joseph Central Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 14-10. Can the Flyers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
