Holmen is 8-2 against Sparta since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Holmen Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Sparta Spartans at 7:15 p.m. Holmen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Tuesday, Holmen took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 61-30 victory over La Crosse Logan.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Sparta, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 57-41 loss to La Crosse Central on Tuesday.
Sparta's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elexa Jones, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals, and Tiana Leis who scored 11 points. The matchup was Leis' third in a row with at least ten points.
The losses dropped Holmen to 2-4 and La Crosse Logan to 1-3.
Holmen was able to grind out a solid victory over Sparta in their previous matchup back in January, winning 62-55. Does Holmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sparta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
