Grace Brethren Christian will be playing at home against the Springdale Prep Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Grace Brethren Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They lost to Takoma Academy at home by a decisive 51-32 margin. While losing is never fun, Grace Brethren Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Tigers are ranked 114th).
Meanwhile, after soaring to 78 points the game before, Springdale Prep were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 74-19 defeat at the hands of Riverdale Baptist. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Springdale Prep has scored all season.
Springdale Prep's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Anya Neufeld, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds, and Samayria Burrison who scored no points. Neufeld has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last nine times she's played.
Grace Brethren Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Springdale Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-22.
