Last Friday, Mingo Central was able to grind out a solid victory over the Pirates, taking the game 55-43. Given Mingo Central's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 89th in West Virginia, while the Pirates are ranked 233rd in Kentucky), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
In what's become a running theme this season, Tug Valley gave their fans yet another huge victory two weeks ago. They blew past Tolsia 86-63. Tug Valley's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mingo Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Tug Valley, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
