Gilman had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They crushed Wabeno/Laona 48-0. That result is just more of the same for Gilman, who also won the last time these teams played. This was the first game for both teams, giving Gilman a 1-0 record and starting Wabeno/Laona off at 0-1.
Next week, Gilman take on Abbotsford at 7:00 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Gilman and Abbotsford will really light up the scoreboard. As for Wabeno/Laona, they will face of against Thorp. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous game, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
