Woodcreek is 10-0 against Yuba City since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Woodcreek Timberwolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yuba City Honkers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Woodcreek has three straight wins, Yuba City has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Woodcreek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Antelope and snuck past 62-59. Given Woodcreek's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Antelope is ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Aidan Triplet, who scored 23 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Nielsen, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Yuba City pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 66-59 to Chico. Yuba City has struggled against Chico recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Woodcreek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Yuba City, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-15.
Woodcreek was able to grind out a solid win over Yuba City in their previous matchup on January 5th, winning 84-76. Does Woodcreek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yuba City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
