Even though the Havelock Rams have not done well against the New Bern Bears recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Havelock managed a 36-30 victory over New Bern. The score was all tied up 12-12 at the break, but Havelock was the better team in the second half.
Nevaeh George was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caidance Hemry, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
The victory got Havelock back to even at 4-4. As for New Bern, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Havelock will be home for the holidays to greet East Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Bern, they will head out on the road to face off against Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
