Point Loma is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Olympian is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Pointers will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Point Loma 3, Olympian 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Point Loma is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over Port of Los Angeles. The Pointers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24th (when they won 11-1).
Ryoko Schroth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Leyton MacPherson was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Delilah Pearlmutter also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Olympian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Ranch, sneaking past 7-6. Seven seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Alexandra Perez tossed a big game, striking out six batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacqui De Murguia, who went 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kailynn Robeson, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Olympian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Olympian is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Point Loma, their win bumped their record up to 26-6-1.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Point Loma hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Olympian struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Point Loma skirted past Olympian 1-0 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Pointers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
