The Wendover Wildcats put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Wells by a score of 44-31. That's another feather in the cap for Wendover, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Wendover found their leader in underclassman Millie Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hicks has scored at least 25% of Wendover's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Alvarez, who scored six points along with five assists and four steals.
Wendover pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Wells, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wendover will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bryce Valley at 5:30 p.m. on December 28th. Wells will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McDermitt at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
