South Forsyth is 9-1 against the Eagles since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The South Forsyth War Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Milton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, South Forsyth came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 59-50 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
Meanwhile, Milton entered their tilt with the Wolverines with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Milton enjoyed a cozy 61-42 win over the Wolverines on Tuesday. Given Milton's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Wolverines are ranked 167th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Milton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nya Smith, who scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Smith is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 16 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Londyn Walker, who scored ten points along with seven steals and six assists.
South Forsyth's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Milton, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
South Forsyth came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in January, falling 66-60. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Smith, who scored 35 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Now that South Forsyth knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
