Football Recap: Warren County Piles Up the Points Against Rosewood

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Warren County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past Rosewood to the tune of 36-6. Considering Warren County has won eight contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Warren County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Graham Hosch out in front who rushed for 145 yards on only 15 carries. Hosch's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 122 rushing yards. Amir Gamble also helped with two touchdowns in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Warren County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Warren County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gamble and Cameron Giddings. Warren County received some extra help from Gamble, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Warren County's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.9 points on average over those games. As for Rosewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Warren County will take on East Carteret at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Mariners have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests. Rosewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
