North Central won the last time they faced Gogebic [Johnston/Wakefield] and Ben Stage did his part to make sure it happened again. The Jets snuck past the Miners with a 38-34 win on Friday with plenty of help from Stage, who threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 83 yards and a pair of TDs. He didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended one pass.

Pryar LaBonte was another key player, picking up 100 receiving yards and a pair of scores. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 57 yards.

Despite the loss, Gogebic [Johnston/Wakefield] still got an impressive performance from Leland Hollenbeck, who rushed for 173 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Jayden Verrett got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.

North Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.5 points over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Gogebic [Johnston/Wakefield] fell to 7-1.
