On Monday, Washington Leadership Academy faced the Idea Timberwolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Washington Leadership Academy fell just short of Idea by a score of 42-40. Washington Leadership Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Idea apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
It was another big night for Asaisha Greene, who scored 22 points for Idea. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Greene has scored at least a third of Idea's points. Ar'Janay Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
This is the second loss in a row for Washington Leadership Academy and nudges their season record down to 7-2. As for Idea, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Washington Leadership Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Digital Pioneers Academy at 5:00 p.m. As for Idea, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against KIPP DC Legacy College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (KIPP DC Legacy College Prep is ranked 18th, while Idea is ranked 15th).
