The Waverly Wolverines entered their tilt with the Susquehanna Valley Sabers with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Waverly blew past Susquehanna Valley 55-0 at home. Considering Waverly has won seven contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Joey Tomasso, who threw for 375 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Watson, who picked up 151 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Waverly's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Susquehanna Valley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Waverly will head out on the road to face off against Chenango Forks at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Chenango Forks' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. Susquehanna Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
