For the second week in a row, the Monarchs defeated some of the top teams in the nation en route to a tournament victory. Mitty received 13 kills from tournament MVP Rachel Williams in the finals against Newport Harbor and also defeated Mira Costa 2-1 in the semifinals. Mitty also defeated Los Alamitos, ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section, and Clovis West, a finalist at the Nike Tournament in Arizona.
2. (2) Reagan (San Antonio, Texas), 33-1
Reagan swept McArthur and Madison, both of San Antonio, by 3-0 scores. Kayla Keller had 12 kills, Preslie Alexander had 11 and Kayci Evans added nine against McArthur. In the Madison victory, Alexander and Keller each had 13 kills.

3. (3) Catholic Academy (Joliet, Ill.), 13-0
The Angels defeated Benet in their only match last week and received 11 kills from Annemarie Hickey. Benet was ranked No. 3 in the Chicago area by the Sun Times.
4. (4) Ursuline Academy (Cincinnati, Ohio), 12-0
Ursuline whipped fellow Cincinnati schools McAuley 3-0 and Mount Notre Dame 3-1 to stay undefeated. Christina Beer had 11 kills and Noelle Langenkamp and Jade Henderson each had 10 in the McAuley win. Dani Reinert, meanwhile, racked up 34 assists. Henderson came up with 17 kills against Mount Notre Dame and Reinert added 32 assists.
5. (5) Shakopee (Minn.), 15-0
The Sabers won the Apple Valley Invitational with 2-0 wins over Burnsville, Owatonna, Bethany Academy and Apple Valley. Megan Westlund had 38 assists in the four games while Amelia Yager had 43. Ashley Wittman led all hitters with 39 kills. Shakopee did not have the chance to meet Chaska in the finals because the Hawks were upset by Bethlehem Academy.
6. (6) Muncie Burris (Muncie, Ind.), 26-0
The Owls captured the Warsaw Invitational with 2-0 wins over North Side (Fort Wayne), Prairie Heights (LaGrange), Warsaw and Bellmont (Decatur). Taylor Unroe had 25 kills in the four games while Taylor Morey added 17.
7. (8) Huntsville (Ala.), 34-0
The Panthers had just one game last week, defeating Guntersville 3-0 to raise their record to 34-0.
8. (9) Coffman (Dublin, Ohio), 14-0
The Shamrocks won the Mother of Mercy Fall Classic with four wins. Coffman defeated Notre Dame (Covington, Ky.), 2-0, Butler (Vandalia, Ohio), 2-1, McAuley (Cincinnati, Ohio), 2-0 and Magnificat (Rocky River, Ohio).
9. (10) Plant (Tampa, Fla.), 11-0
The Panthers played one match last week, defeating Wharton 3-0 behind the play of Alex Johnson, Maddie Martin and Leah Jordan. Johnson had nine kills while Martin and Jordan each had seven.
10. (13) Colorado Springs Christian (Colorado Springs, Colo.), 10-0
Morgan Broekhuis had 16 kills and Heather Poll had nine in a 3-0 win over Florence. The Lions also dropped Classical Academy in three games, with Broekhuis getting three kills and Brianne Vande Griend adding 10..
11. (14) Dos Pueblos (Goleta, Calif.), 8-1
The Chargers rebounded from the loss to Mitty by beating Rosary and Ventura by identical 3-0 scores. Against Ventura, Sally Yingst had 11 kills and Sam and Carly Wopat each had eight. The Wopat sisters did not play against Rosary, but Nicki Brown had 17 kills and Yingst had 10 to give the Chargers the win.
12. (20) Jesuit (Portland, Ore.), 11-0
The Crusaders won the Medford Tournament, picking up six wins, all in straight games, including a 25-23, 25-19 win over Barlow in the finals.
13. (22) Amarillo (Texas), 32-3
The Sandies defeated Tascosa 3-0 and Permian 3-0 to raise their record to 32-3. Neely Borger had 12 kills in the win over Permian while Sheridan Burgess added 10.
14. (24) St. Francis (Wheaton, Ill.), 17-0
The Spartans dropped Marian Central Catholic 2-0 and Rosay 2-0 in their only matches last week.
15. (25) JH Rose (Greenville, N.C.), 12-0-1
The Rampants won three matches last week, defeating New Hanover 3-0, Northwest Guilford 3-0 and Broughton 3-0. Caroline Douglas had 30 kills in the three games combined to lead Rose.
16. (NR) Newport Harbor (Calif.), 11-4
The Sailors finished in second place at the prestigious Durango Classic, defeating Sacred Heart and Assumption of Louisville, Ky., and also topping Santa Margarita before falling to Archbishop Mitty in the final.
17. (17) Assumption (Louisville, Ky.), 21-3
The Rockets finished third at the Durango Classic, defeating Mira Costa in the third-place match. The Rockets also defeated Torrey Pines of San Diego and Redlands East Valley before falling to Newport Harbor in the semifinals.
18. (11) Marian (Omaha, Neb.), 16-1
The Crusaders rebounded from a 2-1 loss to Elkhorn last week at the Lincoln Public Schools Classic to defeat Pius X of Lincoln 2-0, Gross Catholic of Omaha 2-0 and Omaha South 3-0.
19. (NR) Randall (Amarillo, Texas), 27-1
The Raiders’ only loss this year was in the first match of the season to Amarillo. Since losing to the Sandies, Randall has dropped just one game in 27 straight wins, and that was to Lake Travis, a team that has won 30 matches this year.
20. (16) Berkeley Prep (Tampa, Fla.), 13-2
The Buccaneers won the Premier Tournament, defeating Baldwin (Pittsburgh, Pa.), St. Pius X Catholic (Atlanta), Leon (Tallahassee, Fla.), Venice (Fla.) and Mercy (Louisville, Ky.). Jordan Burgess had 73 kills in the five games combined.
21. (18) Lee’s Summit West (Lee’s Summit, Mo.), 16-1
The Titans dropped their first match of the season, falling to Nerinx Hall (Webster Groves, Mo.) at the Blue Springs South Invitational. Lee’s Summit West also won three games at the event, defeating Incarnate Word Academy, Blue Valley North and Ozark.
22. (15) Santa Barbara (Calif.), 7-2
The Dons lost to Harvard Westlake in a nonleague match last week, but remained ranked No. 1 in the Southern Section Division II rankings.
23. (NR) Yorktown (Ind.), 23-0
The Tigers won the Muncie Central Invite and are ranked No. 1 in the Indiana Division 3A rankings. Bailey Barker leads the team in kills with 173 while Jill Hopper has 139.
24 (NR) Allen (Texas), 27-4
The Eagles are ranked No. 1 in the Dallas area by the Dallas Morning News and No. 5 in the state by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Allen has a loss to Pearce of Richardson, but has wins over Westwood of Austin, Coppell, Amarillo and Lovejoy.
25. (NR) Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), 6-4
Moved up to No. 2 in the Southern Section Division I rankings after a fourth-place finish at the Durango Classic. The Mustangs avenged an earlier loss to Marymount and also defeated Long Beach Wilson. Lost to Mitty and Assumption in the championship bracket.
