Basketball Recap: New Life Camp Takes a Loss

New Life Camp lost against North Raleigh Christian Academy back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The New Life Camp Storm took a 72-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights. The Storm have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, New Life Camp still got an impressive performance from Caroline Brown, who went 9 for 15 on her way to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Edwards, who posted 15 points and six rebounds.

North Raleigh Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keaton Rikard out in front who put up 26 points and seven boards. With that strong performance, Rikard is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Khloe Moye was another key player, putting up 15 points along with six boards and six steals.

New Life Camp's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-7.

New Life Camp and North Raleigh Christian Academy's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. New Life Camp and South Wake (who has only given up 29.17 points per game) will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Life Camp is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.3 points per game this season. Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy and St. Mary's (who has only given up 30 points per game) will meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
