Taylor is 2-8 against Roosevelt since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Bears at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Taylor's victory against Lincoln Park wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Griffins never let the Railsplitters get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Griffins, who have now won three contests in a row.

The result came thanks to Jason Miller's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Taylor is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-10 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Taylor's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Doute, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Seth Anderson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Taylor hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt hadn't done well against Allen Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Bears skirted past the Jaguars 6-5.
Connor Bedo was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Taylor's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-11. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Roosevelt, their record now sits at 8-11.
Taylor beat Roosevelt 8-4 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Griffins since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
