The Lakeway Christian Academy Lions will challenge the Heritage Mountaineers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lakeway Christian Academy barely beat University School the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Lakeway Christian Academy put the hurt on University School with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Jack Vineyard, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Hudson Ford was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Heritage had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They blew past the Tigers 16-1. While the Mountaineers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 16-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Derek Hodge looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, William (Thomas) Bowers was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gaven French, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three runs.
Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Howland only managed one hit.
Lakeway Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That somehow still isn't as good as their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. Heritage's win bumped their record up to 8-5.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lakeway Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lakeway Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Heritage in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Will Lakeway Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Heritage has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
