Baseball Recap: Window Rock Comes Up Short

If Window Rock was feeling good fresh off their 13-7 takedown of Joseph City last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Window Rock took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gallup Bengals on Saturday.

Landyn Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Window Rock's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Adriano Westbrook, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Window Rock has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Gallup's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Coming up, Window Rock will square off against Miyamura at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Gallup, they will take on Rehoboth Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gallup is facing Rehoboth Christian at the right time seeing as Rehoboth Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
