Sartell-St. Stephen is a perfect 10-0 against St. Cloud Tech since September of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Sabres are taking a road trip to take on the Tigers at 11:30 a.m.
Sartell-St. Stephen is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Elk River just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Elks by a score of 3-2. While the Sabres didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Elks 25-15 in the first set.
Sartell-St. Stephen started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 15-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 16-14.

Sartell-St. Stephen's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Violet Meyer, who had ten digs and five aces, and Kate Thompson, who had 42 assists and 11 digs. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.
Meanwhile, St. Cloud Tech hadn't done well against Bemidji recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Lumberjacks with a sharp 3-0 victory.
The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 12-8. As for St. Cloud Tech, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Sartell-St. Stephen was able to grind out a solid win over St. Cloud Tech when the teams last played back in August of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Sabres have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
