Despite their loss, Pipestem Christian Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Enoch Gonderman, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards, was perhaps the best of all. The matchup was Gonderman's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Silas Mattox, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morgantown Christian Academy). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging an 84-46 win over Elk Valley Christian. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Pipestem Christian Academy better keep an eye on Cole Mathess. He was instrumental in Morgantown Christian Academy's win, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine boards. Mathess has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 21 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Collin Lemley, who posted 16 points and six rebounds.
Morgantown Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive games.
