The Moulton Bobkatz waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Pettus 34-31. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Moulton has posted yet this season.
Pettus' loss came despite strong showings from Hayleigh Cruz and Carmen Cantu. Cruz scored 11 points along with three steals, while Cantu scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Moulton pushed their record up to 20-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pettus, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Moulton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Runge at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Runge is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Pettus, they will head out on the road to take on Waelder at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
