Softball Recap: Chavez Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chavez had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Poly Parrots. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Chavez let Alyssa Anaya and Jessica Ramos run wild. Anaya got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Ramos got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Ramos has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Yliana Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Chavez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Chavez's record is now 8-9. As for Poly, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Chavez is set to square off against their familiar foe San Fernando at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Poly will face off against rival Verdugo Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
