When it comes to explaining why Vanguard College Prep lost, one person who can't be blamed is Desmond Taylor. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Muriithi, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Leading Stockton Christian to victory were Brandon Williams and Jayden Chamblee. Williams scored 23 points, while Chamblee scored 22 points. Chamblee continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Weaver, who scored ten points.
Vanguard College Prep has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Stockton Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home.
Vanguard College Prep will head out on the road to square off against Lodi Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Stockton Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Delta Charter at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
