Minarets is 0-10 against Riverdale since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Minarets Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Riverdale Cowboys at 5:00 p.m. Minarets' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 15 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
Minarets fell victim to Caruthers' stalwart defense on Tuesday and couldn't make it onto the board. They suffered a tough 12-0 defeat at the hands of the Blue Raiders. Minarets has not had much luck with Caruthers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Riverdale waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Liberty 2-1.
Minarets' loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Riverdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8-5 record this season.
Minarets might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Riverdale in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Minarets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
