The Anthony Wildcats waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They strolled past McCamey with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Anthony also won the last time the pair played back in January.
McCamey lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Edgar Quinonez, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Jacobi Pollard was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five assists and five rebounds.
McCamey's lineup was just a bit different on Tuesday as Wesley Mills got a bit more time on the court (26 vs. his season average of 12.25). Mills made the most of the opportunity, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Anthony is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. As for McCamey, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anthony will take on Fort Hancock at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Anthony's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups. As for McCamey, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wink at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wink focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
