Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Dominion Academy 76-41. Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, Calvary Christian was not quite Hardin Northern's equal in the second half on Monday. Calvary Christian took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hardin Northern. Calvary Christian has not had much luck with Hardin Northern recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Philip Davie, who scored 17 points along with five assists. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for he. Another player making a difference was Zeeke Wylie, who scored 12 points.
Calvary Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Calvary Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.
Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 57-11 defeat at the hands of Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Can Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
