Softball Recap: Grass Lake Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Grass Lake waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Columbia Central Golden Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 24 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Morgan ?Mo? Conrad (2026) made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Conrad (2026) was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Grass Lake got a massive performance out of Bree Salts (2025), who went 3-for-6 with three doubles and four RBI. Those three doubles gave Salts (2025) a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Brown (2025), who went 4-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Grass Lake's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season.

Grass Lake has already played their next match (against Lumen Christi Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Columbia Central, they will venture away from home to take on Adrian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
