Jefferson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Broadwater Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Jefferson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Jefferson stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They really took it to White Sulphur Springs for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-30 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-16.
Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Stevens, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Dalton Noble was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for Broadwater, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 61-52 to the Big Horns on Saturday. Broadwater's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it 11 in a row.
Jefferson's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Broadwater, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
Jefferson beat the Bulldogs 84-72 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jefferson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
