Volleyball Recap: Hoover Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Hoover won the last time they faced Firebaugh and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 win. The Patriots not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 12, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-12, 25-16.

Hoover can attribute much of their success to Alejandra Espino, who had 19 assists and three aces. Those 19 assists gave Espino a new career-high.

Espino wasn't the only good server: Hoover was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Hoover's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Firebaugh, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Hoover has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Grace Davis on the 23rd. As for Firebaugh, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Granite Hills on the 22nd.
