Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Eastmark turned things around against Desert Sunrise on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Golden Hawks. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Firebirds considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Matthew Varela looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Rosales, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Austin Snyder, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Eastmark hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, ALA - Queen Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Eagles.
Seth Nielson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
ALA - Queen Creek pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Eastmark, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
