The Edgewood Academy Wildcats posted their closest win yet this season on Tuesday. They skirted past Hooper Academy 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edgewood Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brock Whitt, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Johnny Groves, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Edgewood Academy and bumps their season record up to 11-15. As for Hooper Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edgewood Academy will take on Autauga Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Autauga Academy and Edgewood Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Hooper Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Fort Dale Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
