Waterford has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Draper APA Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Waterford didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Eagles, but they still walked away with a 32-27 win. The victory was just what Waterford needed coming off of a 48-27 loss in their prior game.
Waterford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anne Howard out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Halee Hasebi was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Draper APA had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They breezed by Rowland Hall on the road to the tune of 66-16. Draper APA has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 26 points or more this season.
Waterford's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Draper APA, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Waterford was dealt a bruising 75-36 loss at the hands of the Eagles in their previous meeting back in January. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Waterford was down 41-21.
