 Back at the plate,  the team  relied heavily on  Evan Balzer, who  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Columbus East's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Batesville, their defeat  ended  a  four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 10-6.
 Columbus East will head out on the road to  take on  Columbus North at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Batesville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lawrenceburg at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Lawrenceburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8  runs per game  this season.
