The El Segundo Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the California Condors at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. El Segundo has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
Last Friday, El Segundo beat Wiseburn- Da Vinci by the very same score they won with last week: 47-46. The win was all the more spectacular given El Segundo's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while Wiseburn- Da Vinci is ranked 120th).
Meanwhile, California waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins but they left with six. They breezed by Claremont at home to the tune of 72-45. California has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.
El Segundo is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for California, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
