The Strafford Indians's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Norwood with a sharp 61-37 win. This was payback for Strafford, who suffered a 50-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the defeat, Norwood had strong showings from Cooper Vaughan, who scored ten points, and Gunner Bradshaw, who scored five points along with ten rebounds. Vaughan scored a full 27% of Norwood's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gary Williams was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Strafford's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Norwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strafford will square off against Spokane at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Spokane is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Norwood will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cabool at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Cabool has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
