Baseball Recap: Gibson County's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Gibson County had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Ripley Tigers 9-3 on Tuesday. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Gibson County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myles Halford, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Halford a new career-high. Another was Brayden Fisher, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Gibson County now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Ripley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Coming up, Gibson County will welcome Tipton Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.15 runs per game on average), something the Pioneers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ripley, they will head out to take on Haywood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
