Sewickley Academy will venture away from home to challenge the Hopewell Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sewickley Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Sewickley Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against South Side on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 4-3.

Charlotte Andrews (2028) spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 18 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sanaa Grant (2026) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, Hopewell waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Tigers 10-2. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
Allison Ramaley made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Ramaley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Hopewell let Tallulah Showrank and Victoria Mann run wild. Showrank went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Mann went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Showrank has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Marina Pinchotti, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Hopewell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Hopewell pushed their record up to 10-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sewickley Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Sewickley Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hopewell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
