A Season-Best Performance from Nelsyn Wheeler Leads Grand Island over Bellevue East
Grand Island was led to victory by Nelsyn Wheeler, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Wheeler rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 128 or more in the last three games he's played.

Blake Smith's big game helped extend Westview's winning streak to three on Friday. Smith turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 175 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 150 rushing yards.
For the season, Smith has run in 11 touchdowns while averaging 116.2 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he had two rushing touchdowns.
