The Little Miami Panthers will head out to face off against the Lakota East Thunderhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Little Miami took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Walnut Hills as they made off with a 16-1 win. The Panthers have beaten the Eagles the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

Little Miami was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lakota East entered their tilt with Sycamore on Thursday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Aviators get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory.
Like Little Miami, Lakota East also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaleigh Crawford. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Crawford has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Amber Munoz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Abrie Shulte, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Lakota East pushed their record up to 15-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Little Miami, their record is now 17-8.
Little Miami's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lakota East, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Little Miami continue to outrun the ball?
Little Miami suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Lakota East when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
