The Niceville Eagles stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Navarre on the road to the tune of 63-34. Given Niceville's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Navarre is ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Niceville to victory were Kiyah Hatcher and Carson Fayard. Hatcher scored 19 points along with three steals, while Fayard scored 14 points along with six assists and six steals. Fayard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Kimball, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Niceville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Navarre, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Niceville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gulf Breeze at 6:45 p.m. on January 16th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gulf Breeze comes in on three and Niceville on four. As for Navarre, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Milton at 6:30 p.m.
