Basketball Recap: Sullivan Skates Past North Knox with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Sullivan over North Knox in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Sullivan Golden Arrows blew the North Knox Warriors out of the water with a 67-35 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Golden Arrows had established a 26 point advantage.

Leading Sullivan to victory were Cooper Bock and Paul Ridgway. Bock dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards, while Ridgway went 8 of 12 en route to 18 points and three steals. Bock's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Carson Granby also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Sullivan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

North Knox lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Coy VanMeter, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave VanMeter a new career-high in boards. Cole Kerns was another key player, putting up ten points.

Sullivan's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 10-6. As for North Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sullivan has already played their next contest (against Brown County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. North Knox will head out to take on Washington Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Knox is facing Washington Catholic at the right time seeing as Washington Catholic is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
