Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Islip). They came out on top against Bellport on Wednesday by a score of 14-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Clippers: they've now won eight in a row.
Like Westhampton Beach, West Islip also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Bouros. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles.

West Islip was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .528. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
West Islip's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Westhampton Beach, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.
Westhampton Beach beat West Islip 10-7 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
