The Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers will take on the Sherman Oaks CES Knights at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences made easy work of Fulton and carried off a 19-6 win. The Vipers haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Emily Abramson was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Abramson was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences let Jillian Hernandez and Kaida Vorster run wild. Hernandez scored four runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-5, while Vorster scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Hernandez has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ruth Zambrano, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Sherman Oaks CES put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Northridge Academy, sneaking past 4-2.
Araceli Altamirano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Reagan Rosenthal was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Sherman Oaks CES' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average this season. As for Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
