After flying high against the Victor Pirates two weeks ago, the Two Eagle River Eagles came back down to earth. Two Eagle River took a 44-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Victor on Tuesday. Two Eagle River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Victor apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played.
Two Eagle River's loss came despite strong showings from Emma Spotted Eagle and Dayani Piapot. Spotted Eagle scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Piapot scored 11 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Spotted Eagle grabbed two or more steals.
Two Eagle River bumped their record down to 3-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.5 points per game. As for Victor, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Two Eagle River will be playing at home against St. Regis at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Victor, they will head out on the road to square off against Drummond at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
