It was another big night for Kaemon Noel, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Derrick Benbow jr, who scored eight points.
When it comes to explaining why Jacksonville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amaree Barber. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with five assists and four steals. Demon June was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
White Oak's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Jacksonville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
White Oak will finish 2023 at home by hosting Richlands at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richlands will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while White Oak is ranked 119th). Jacksonville is on the road again on Thursday and play against Lejeune at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Lejeune is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
