Asheboro has struggled against Uwharrie Charter recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Asheboro still got an impressive performance from Ellen Long, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Malaika Khan, who scored 8 points.
Uwharrie Charter can attribute much of their success to Sammy Chriscoe, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. Nevaeh Staples was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Asheboro has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 0-7 record. As for Uwharrie Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Providence Grove the next time they take the court. Asheboro will host Providence Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Uwharrie Charter will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
