The Plant Panthers and the Columbus Explorers squared off in some playoff action  on Friday, but sadly the Plant Panthers had to settle for second. Their  tough  27-7 defeat to the Explorers  might stick with them for a while. Plant's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
  Trey O'Malley threw for 181 yards and  a touchdown.  
 Whitt Busbee was his top target, picking up 89 receiving yards and  a touchdown.
 Plant's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Columbus, their win was  their sixth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 12-2.
 Plant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Columbus will take on Mandarin at 3:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mandarin is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
