Coral Springs Charter is a perfect 4-0 against West Boca Raton since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Coral Springs Charter Panthers will host the West Boca Raton Bulls at 6:00 p.m. Coral Springs Charter is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Coral Springs Charter's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Western 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Courtney Wahlbrink was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Bree Martinelli was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Addi Brown was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Coral Springs Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, West Boca Raton didn't have quite enough to beat Spanish River on Monday and fell 5-4.
Like Coral Springs Charter, West Boca Raton also got a great game from a two-way player: Megan Brockmann. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Brockmann was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Araya Brunner and Madison Luft stepped up to the plate in a big way. Brunner scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Luft scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Coral Springs Charter's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for West Boca Raton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Coral Springs Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like West Boca Raton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Coral Springs Charter took their victory against West Boca Raton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0. Does Coral Springs Charter have another victory up their sleeve, or will West Boca Raton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
